We hosted a discussion around the ins and outs on what you need to know to be compliant with bringing a new product to market in-regards federal, state or industry guidelines. We were joined by Abena Foli, who is the principal of Foli Food Consult, a food regulatory consulting service. She has over a decade’s worth of experience in the food industry starting off as a Food Scientist doing product development work at General Mills and Reily Foods.
At Reily Foods she dabbled in Food Regulations and Compliance, enjoyed it and pivoted to Regulatory at Saputo Inc, when she moved to Dallas. In the past 5 years she has built and led the regulatory capabilities at Borden, Merck KGaA in their Cultured Meat program, and most recently, Orbillion Bio, a cultured meat start up. She is also the founder and Chief Spice Officer of POKS Spices, a West African seasoning company.
