Chris is a dynamic entrepreneur and executive with over 20 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. His beverage career began in 2001 after a transformative trip to Brazil, where he discovered açaí and founded Zola, the world’s first packaged açaí juice. As Founder and CEO, he led Zola to create the fastest-selling açaí juice and coconut water SKUs in the US, expanding the brand to include coconut water in 2012.
In 2016, Zola was acquired by KarpReilly, with Chris staying on as CEO to focus on plant-based beverages. Caliva acquired Zola in May 2019, and Chris became Head of Beverage and a member of the Executive Team. After Caliva’s acquisition by the Parent Company in January 2021, the largest SPAC deal in Canadian and cannabis history, Chris led the sale of the CBD division and subsequently started a private consulting business. He developed a go-to-market strategy and raised seven figures for a tequila company before joining BeyondBrands as Chief Growth Officer and founding BeyondSpirits, where he now serves as CEO.
Chris’s expertise spans business planning, raising capital, building teams, sales growth, business operations, strategic partnerships, go-to-market strategies, financial management, company restructuring, scaling companies, acquisitions, and board of director relations. Passionate about building businesses, creating positive culture, and working with great people, Chris lives in Half Moon Bay, California, with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys surfing, beach life, walking his dog, and spending time with family and friends.
